- A FINE AND UNUSUAL YELLOW GOLD, ENAMEL AND DIAMOND-SET AUTOMATON TURTLE CIRCA 1989
- Length, breadth and depth 120 x 85 x 65 mm
• the body realistically designed to represent a turtle in yellow gold, turtle shell on top finely decorated with diamond and enamel, all limbs are engraved in great details • when the automaton movement is engaged, the turtle crawls with simultaneous head movements, the automata work composed by gilt metal wheels, a barrel and one lever, all working together to create the motion • case signed
Condition
Automaton mechanism in working order when cataloging. There are visible restoration on the enamel panel near the keyholes and three other enamel panels at the back of the shell. A minor crack of enamel near the keyhole. Superb workmanship on the enamel finishing cast on a 18k yellow gold case. All hallmarks stamped are visibly and clear.
