depicted seated on a mythical beast, with arms raised supporting a basket of flowers, wearing long robes intricately engraved with floral and foliate motifs, the hair gathered into an elaborate chignon, with traces of paint and gilding
Provenance
Acquired in 1996.
Condition
The head and one foot of the figure have been broken and restuck. There are other small chips and minor nibbling along the extremities. The paint and gilding is very well-preserved. The stone is of a warmer tone compared to the catalogue illustration.
