Condition

With old losses to fretwork; painted paper moon phase with early applied paper and hand-painted moon and sun; 2 3/4 in. loss to door applied molding; proper left near 2 in. of front facing lacking; appears to retain an early and possibly original finish.

Catalogue Note

According to family tradition, the present clock was originally given by a visiting minister to Zerubabel Baldwin, who had served in the Revolutionary War as a Minute Man Western Private in 1777.
