Condition

FR : Bon état général. Des traces de salissures éparses, quelques marques et de légères griffures en surface. Des taches plus importantes dans le fond de la coupe. Petites projections de plâtre sur la surface. L'ensemble probablement dû à la présence de la coupe pendant plusieurs années dans l'atelier d'Alberto Giacometti. De petits éclats sur le pourtour de le coupe et sur la base, un éclat plus important sur le pourtour du haut (environ 0,6 cm). EN : Good overall conditionSome dirt stains scattered, a few marks and some minor scratches on the surface. A few more important stains at the bottom of the bowl. Minor plaster splashes on the surface. Most of it is probably due to the presence of the bowl in Alberto Giacometti's studio for several years. Some minor chips on the edges of the bowl and on the base, one slightly more important on the top edge (approximately 0,6 cm - 1/4 in)

Le modèle de la coupe 'Ovale' en plâtre blanc a été créé en 1934. Cet exemplaire fut offert par l'artiste à Roberto Matta et sa femme Malitte à l'occasion de leur mariage en 1954 à Paris. Signe de leur amité, cette coupe a été conservée jusqu'à aujourd'hui dans sa collection d'origine

Ce lot est accompagné d'un certificat de la Fondation Alberto et Annette Giacometti

The “Ovale” patinated white plaster cup was created in 1934. This example was given by the artist to Roberto Matta and his wife Malitte as a wedding present in 1954 in Paris. As a testament of their friendship, this bowl has been until now preserved in the original collection
