Catalogue Note

The son of Georges Fouquet, the great Art Nouveau jeweller, Jean Fouquet joined the family business in 1910. Close to Louis Aragon and Paul Eluard and strongly influenced by the avant-gardes of the time, he was one of the founding members of the UAM in 1930. With pure forms and geometrical lines, his work was inspired by the industrial aesthetic and combines innovative materials for the jewellery such as ebony or steel.
