FR : Très bon état général. Quelques rayures de surface, petits enfoncements sur le bois dont quelque uns plus importants sur les rebords du plateau. Le métal est légèrement oxydé, avec quelques petites rayures d'usage. Quelques petites restaurations sur le bois. Un très petit saut de placage au revers de la partie centrale. L'intérieur des prises des tiroirs latéraux avec des traces d'usure. Petites tâches et traces de salissure à l'intérieur des casiers Le sous-main a été remplacé à une époque postérieure à la création et se décolle légèrement. EN : Very good overall condition. Some surface scratches and minor dents on the wood, including a few ones more important on the edges of the top. The metal is slightly oxidized with some scratches consistent with use. A few minor restorations to the wood. A very minor lack of veneer on the underside of the central part. Some wear on the handles of the lateral compartments. Small stains and dirt on the inside of the compartments. The desk-blotter has been replaced and is slightly coming off.

Le bureau que nous présentons est une commande spéciale pour l'aménagement d'une société immobilière réalisée en 1967. Le commanditaire, ami proche de Claude Parent, lui demande de "penser" les espaces de réception et son bureau personnel. Claude Parent crée alors un bureau de forme triangulaire en noyer massif reposant sur quatre pieds dissymétriques en acier épousant les codes de sa "fonction oblique". D'une qualité d'exécution aussi ingénieuse que parfaite il utilise des techniques  traditionnelles et novatrices, comme celle d'installer deux casiers aux extrémités du sous-main s'ouvrant par un ingénieux système. Plus traditionnels seront les flancs faisant apparaître des queues d'arondes nous rappelant les grandes techniques de l'ébénisterie française. Œuvre unique, ce bureau aux formes contemporaines résume les concepts de cet architecte de la modernité, penseur du XXIème siècle qui souhaitait que "l'oblique mette l'homme en mouvement".

This desk is a special order produced in 1967 for the interior design of a company. The owner, a close friend of Claude Parent, asked him to rethink the reception areas and his office. Claude Parent created a triangular desk in solid walnut with dissymmetrical steel feet echoing the ‘oblique position’ of the executive. The desk, as perfectly executed as ingenious, has been conceived using both traditional and innovative techniques such as the installation of two coffers on each side of the writing pad, which open up thanks to an ingenious system. The use of dovetails on the flanks is more traditional and is reminiscent of the great techniques of French cabinetmaking. A unique piece, this contemporary shaped desk sums up the concepts of the architect, a great thinker of the 21th century who wanted ‘obliqueness to put man in motion’.
