Condition

Colour: The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate, although the overall tonality is slighter brighter in the original. The catalogue illustration also fails to fully convey the rich texture of the impasto visible in the original. Condition: This work is in very good condition. Close inspection reveals some light wear to the corner tips. Very close inspection reveals a very fine and stable tension crack running intermittently along the extreme outer edges and a few unobtrusive hairline cracks to some of the thicker areas of pigment. Visible in the catalogue illustration, there is a horizontal loss towards the centre of the extreme upper edge. No restoration is apparent when examined under ultraviolet light.
