Condition

Colour: The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate although the lighter areas tend more towards cream in the original. Condition: This work is in very good condition. There is a faint rubmark and some minute and unobtrusive media accretions on the verso, as well as evidence of rubbing to the uppermost edge of the sculpture. All other surface irregularities are inherent to the artist's choice of medium.

Catalogue Note

“Sculpture is a function of space. I don't mean the space outside the form, which surrounds the volume and in which the form lives, but the space generated by the form, which lives within it and which is more effective the more unnoticeably it acts.”
