sturdily potted with a compressed ovoid body rising to a broad shoulder, the exterior carved with large stylised lotus blooms borne on leafy stems elegantly curling across the vessel, the rim bordered with a band enclosing bats with outstretched wings alternating with ruyi-shaped cloud scrolls, unctuously covered with a sky-blue glaze, the base with a six-character reign mark

Condition

The jar is in overall good condition with minor surface wear. There are chips to the foot, particularly to the inner footring. There are also expected minor firing imperfections consistent with its type and age.
