Description

  • jadeite
of tapered oval section rising from a spreading foot, carved in high relief on one side with a three lingzhi borne on a leafy sprig, the sides carved in openwork with two clambering chilong, surmounted by a domed cover with a coiled chilong finial, the pale apple-green stone suffused with darker emerald-green veining, wood stand (3)

Condition

The jadeite vase is affixed to the wood stand and was not removed for inspection. Drill marks are visible on the shoulders of the vase as well as on the underside of the chilong on the right. There are minute nicks along some of the edges. There appears to be a circular crack to the interior base. The stone with fissures, some stained. There are small breaks to the stand.
