Catalogue Note

LARGE WALL MAP BY MA JUNLIANG. "The large map that occupies the lower two-thirds of this composite work by Ma Junliang is another example of a genre of "complete maps of all under Heaven". It renders China in as much the same manner as Huang Qianren's A Complete Map of the Ten-Thousand-Year Unified [Realm of] All under Heaven of the Great Qing. However, Ma's design alters the popular cartographical approach by adding two smaller world maps to the upper section of the work" (All Under Heaven).
