Catalogue Note

RARE. "A selection of photographs from the author's travels in China over a period of ten years from around 1909 onwards. The places illustrated range from the Bund and foreign concessions in Shanghai through various places on the Yangtze (including the gorges), areas of Southern China and up to Manchuria" (Western Travellers in China). The long panoramas show: Hsihu; Wuchang, Hankou and Hanyang; Bund of Changsha; The Tzu-chin-ching. The double-page panoramas depict Mt. Yolu, Bird's-Eye View of Sasi, Aeroplane View of Dairen City and Harbour, and Complete View of Pen-hsin.
