Condition

Original canvas, the canvas is sound. There are fine lines of craquelure to the white paint throughout, with an area of associated flaking loss to the centre of the upper horizontal edge. There are traces of studio matter throughout, most likely in keeping with the artist's materials. Subject to the above the work is in good overall condition. Inspection under ultraviolet light reveals no obvious signs of fluorescence or retouching. The work is unframed.
