Condition

The sculpture is sound. There is some slight rubbing to some of the protruding edges of the work and there is a small nick to the edge of the Mother's right knee. There are some areas of oxidisation to the work. There is uneveness to the patina and variation in colour in places, most noticeably to the top of the Mother's head. There are some pit marks in places, thought to be in keeping with the casting process. There is some light surface dirt to the work, most apparent in the crevices. The sculpture is freestanding. Please telephone the department on +44 (0) 207 293 6424 if you have any questions regarding the present work.
