Condition

Unexamined out of the frame. The sheet appears to be attached to the mount at all four corners but has not been laid down. The sheet has deckled upper and left edges and undulates very slightly, but otherwise appears sound. There are two small old repaired tears running vertically down from the top edge, the longest of which is approximately 2.5cm. There is staining and discolouration to the sheet. There are some small areas of very fine lines of craquelure to the gouache, particularly to the dark drown pigment. Subject to the above, the work appears in good overall condition. The work is presented in a window mount and held within a white wood frame under glass. Please telephone the department on +44 (0) 207 293 6424 if you have any questions regarding the present work.
