Condition

The board is sound. There are small areas of frame abrasion around the extreme edges of the work, with associated small losses in places. There is a small area of loss towards the centre of the left vertical edge. There are is a light layer of surface dirt and further scattered small spots of staining to the work. Subject to the above the work is in very good overall condition, with fresh and thick passages of impasto. Inspection under ultraviolet light reveals no obvious signs of restoration or retouching.
