Condition

Unexamined out of the frame. The sheet appears to be attached to the backing board in a number of places, but is not laid down. Executed on handmade paper, the edges of the sheet are uneven in keeping with the Artist's materials. There are Artist's pinholes and associated losses to the sheet in all four corners, with further pinholes along the vertical edges. The sheet is slightly cockled throughout. There are scattered areas of craquelure throughout with associated flakes of lifting and loss, most noticeable to the red pigment. There are two areas of loss which appear to have been re-touched in watercolour, in the lower left and the upper left quadrants. Subject to the above the work is in good overall condition. The work is floating within a window mount and held within a wood frame within a gilt-metal surround.
