Description

  • ink on paper with leather binding
Persian manuscript on a text area sprinkled with gold, 15 leaves, 10 lines to the page, written in alternating large blue and smaller black nasta'liq script, the interstices decorated with scrolling gold flowers, text area set into outer margins decorated with stencilled broad leafy decoration of varied colours, each work with an illuminated opening headpiece in colours and gold, the Hadith with title in ornamental white Kufic, soft leather binding with simple tooled decoration

Condition

In generally good overall condition, wear to binding, various leaves loose in binding, thumbed, small loss to lower outer corner of opening leaf, other small stains, as viewed.
