Catalogue Note

This lot is being sold with a copy of the original design drawing by Mira Nakashima.

This exceptional table was named "Coastal Fine" by its owners.  The swirling burl, dramatic fissures, delicate butterflies and inkblot motifs offer many interpretations of "what the wood is asking to reveal."  For the base of the table, Mira Nakashima took inspiration from the "Peace Altar," which symbolizes George Nakashima's dream to provide "Altars of Peace" for the seven continents on earth.
