Condition

Overall in very good condition. The shade with approximately 17-20 cracks to the glass tiles dispersed throughout, which is a relatively low number in proportion to the vast number of individual small glass tiles which were required to execute this complex pattern. The majority of these hairlines have recently been sensitively stabilized. The top reticulated bronze armature of the shade is finely cast displaying fine detailing to the branching. The top armature and shade leading display a particularly rich green and russet brown patina, with some gentle rubbing to the high points of the top reticulated shade armature. The small “Tree” base displays satisfying variations of green and russet brown patina. The patinated bronze surfaces show very minimal surface wear and gentle rubbing to the high points of the design, and with some light surface soiling to the recessed contours consistent with age and gentle use. The base appears to retain its original decorative bronze switch which is fully functional. The three sockets all appear to be original and undisturbed. A beautiful example of this rare and charming lamp design, displaying an exceptionally strong glass selection for the Begonia model. The Begonia blossoms are articulated in rich red hues, and the background glass is accented in translucent cobalt blue glass, heightening the dazzling effect of the lamp.
