Condition

A print of this image held by the Museum of the City of New York is dated circa 1910. The '71 West 23d Street' studio stamp on the reverse of the present print suggests that it was made prior to 1918 when Beals's studio moved to 292 Fifth Avenue. This warm-toned early print, on paper with a glossy surface, is in generally good condition. Several small crescent-shaped and linear creases are visible overall, most of which appear to break the emulsion. The print is trimmed to the image, with resultant edge wear and a loss to the tip of the lower right corner. In raking light, faint silvering, tiny impressions, graphite transfer, and scratches are visible. On the reverse of the print, '1717' and '6' (circled) are written in pencil.
