The complete portfolio, comprising 10 collages and pochoirs printed in colors, 1926, signed on both the justification page and cover in pencil, numbered 80 on the justification page, from the total edition of 105, on wove paper, published in 1926 by Éditions SurrĂ©alistes, Paris, framed (11 prints including cover)

Condition

The portfolio is in generally good condition, with all the pochoirs and the cloth portfolio binding. The sheet are unevenly toned, the colors are slightly attenuated and have possibly (?) be re-touched by a later hand. The verso, with scattered foxing showing through to various degrees with discoloring associated with the pochoirs. Additional condition notes particular to each image: Cover: The cloth covers is torn with many scuff marks. The binding is beginning to separate tear in two. The Inside cover with the title page and justification have yellowed. I. Mime. Two creases in the sheet: one to the left of the image at center the other in the top left corner. II. Long Distance. The right side of the sheet at middle is particularly discolored. The bottom left corner is creased. Scattered damp stains in the bottom right corner. III. Orchestra. The bottom left corner is damp-stained. Minor creasing in the lower sheet edge and the left sheet edge with minor areas of paper loss. Several creases in the top half of the sheet. V. Legend. The sheet is brittle and rippled. There is a pin hole to the left of the image. VI. Decanter. The left corners were creased at some point in the past and there are two repaired tears in the top sheet edge, the largest 1/4 of an inch. VIII. Shadows - Two creases in the sheet: one to the right of the image at center the other at the top left of the image. The bottom right corner with a diagonal crease. IX. Concrete Mixer. The bottom and top corners are creased as is the center of the sheet. X. Dragonfly. There is a diagonal stabilized crease in the bottom left corner. The paper around the central image is torn and has been stabilized with Mulberry paper.
