Star Wars 'Early Bird Certificate Package' store display, 1977

There are only approximately 5 known complete examples. This piece appears to have never been used however there were two tears to the front corner of the display bin that were repaired.  It is in overall C-8 condition with the noted repairs.  

Overall C-8 condition, the bin has some very light case wear to the bottom with a 2 1/2 inch non-color breaking vein through the Kenner logo on the left. The right side has a near identical vein about half way up. The back has a vein straight across the footer about 10 inches long. The front two corners of the bin have had splits repaired by a professional art restorer. Overall the bin displays in apparent C-8.5+ condition. The header card has some rubbing mostly to the all black areas on the bottom. There is some light corner wear. There are 3 light non-color breaking stress veins to the header, one to the left of the Star Wars logo at the top (approximately 1 inches), one to the bottom by the center of the fold line (approximately 1 inches) and the last approximately 1 inch is also on the fold line 5 inches from the right edge. A very solid C-8 condition. The shipper box has one split corner, minor wear and modern tape but is also in great shape, although technically graded at C-7 condition, as a result of the split corner there is no text damaged or missing and presents at a much higher grade.

For the 1977 Christmas season Kenner who was not ready for the over whelming success of Star Wars had no action figure product and no time to get it to the shelves. Instead they came up with a empty cardboard envelope with a cardboard display as something they could get to market quickly. This Store Display is for that very first item and includes a counter top display bin with header card and original shipping box.
