Catalogue Note

"Bathing in sunshine, a small pine tree grows healthily and strongly on wild, fertile land. Exploded gunpowder of different grain sizes form radial lines, which then become rays of sunshine, pine tree needles and grass on the ground. Implied are the transformation of energy and the responding force. Donating this work created in 2012 to the '1 in 11' initiative will help more children to have access to education, so they can embrace a better future. This may be the best place and purpose for this work." Cai Guo-Qiang, 2014
