Condition

The painting has recently been cleaned, relined and restored. In overall good condition. Inspection under ultraviolet reveals restoration to the shadows and outlines of the peaches to the left, and to the stone ledge and the shadows beneath it, and some local strengthening to the leaves. The restoration is not obtrusive and the picture will not require further attention. The varnish is clear and even. Offered in a later gilt wood frame with foliate decoration, some minor chips.
