Condition

The canvas support is old but remains firm and stable. The paint surface are a little dirty and the paper beneath has suffered somewhat, with old filled and repaired tears visible in raking light, including a vertical one of approximately 3 in. through the leg of the bearded figure in the foreground, a diagonal one running 3 in. through the face of the older bearded man behind, an arch shaped one of 3 in. through the hump of the camel. There are what appear to be two old filled repaired holes, one in the background upper right and another in the cow's back. Offered in a simply carved dark wood frame with gilt decoration.
