Condition

Oil on canvas, with a sympathetic old lining. The surface is covered in a thick layer of dirt and discolored varnish. Frame abrasions at the extreme edges, especially at lower left edge. There is lifting with accompanying minor losses along the lower edge. The surface is covered in a stable web of craquelure. Some pinpoint losses are visible along the extreme lower edge. Some scattered dots of discoloration in the sky. Under UV light, the picture is obscured by a thick green fluorescing varnish. Some retouching to the craquelure in the sky near the horizon line at center. Additional inpainting to the craquelure scattered in the trees at right. Scattered retouching at the extreme edges, especially the lower edge. The previously mentioned discolored dots in the sky fluoresce.
