Oil on canvas, lined with a plastic backing and new stretcher bars. There is a stable web of craquelure over the entire picture surface. Retouching is evident to the naked eye at the lower and right edges and lower right corner, as well as a horizontal line extending from the right edge to the broken tree trunk at lower right. Small loss at lower left. Under UV light, there are a few additional spots of retouching in the sky; a horizontal line through the clouds at center; and a few small spots in the trees at left.
