Centering circular micromosaics composed of black and white tesserae in the form of flowers, within decorative gold frames, both bearing the maker's mark for Castellani; last quarter of the 19th century.

Condition

In good condition with overall surface wear and patination to the gold commensurate with age. Two tesserae appear to be missing from each micromosaic, but seen only upon close inspection and not apparent when worn. One case back is rotated about 40degrees out of alignment, possibly due to being tightened after manufacture. Diameters 3/4 inch.
