The double-strand necklace composed of 49 chalcedony beads measuring approximately 13.5 mm, gathered at the side with an articulated floral clasp centering eight cabochon sapphires, framed by five carved chalcedony petals, further decorated by trim set with old European-cut diamonds weighing approximately .85 carat, length 15 inches, with French assay and workshop mark for Groëne et Darde; 1932-1937. With fitted box.

Condition

In good condition. The chalcedony is a pleasant lavender blue color and exhibits interesting color banding to the beads, the articulated petals exhibit more transparency. A few of the beads are nicked or abraded on the surface. The sapphires range in color from a light violet-blue to a medium slightly violetish blue and are translucent; a couple of the stones show light asterism. Diamonds are approximately G-H color and VS clarity. Fits a small neck. The flowerhead measures approximately 2 3/4 x 2 1/2 inches.
