Wearing only a leopard-skin and a loincloth and carrying a small beggar’s pouch the virtuous Bharata renounces his worldly possessions and goes in search of his beloved elder brother and rightful heir to the throne - Rama. The ladies of the palace wail as they are besides themselves with grief and concern at his departure.
