Krishna and the gopas return home at the "hour of cow dust" at the end of the day. He is greeted by a a sakhi (confidante) to Radha who bears a message for him. At lower right we see Radha being accosted by her sister-in-law as she stealthily attempts to leave for her tryst with her beloved Krishna.
