Catalogue Note

Accompanied by a large fitted box, loupe, calendar corrector, guarantee and service history with date of sale on May 7, 2015.

Housed in a massive 45.5 mm case, the Richard Lange Perpetual Calendar Terraluna was debuted by A. Lange & Söhne at SIHH 2014. The watch combines a perpetual calendar, oversized moon-phase with orbit and 14 day power reserve. The technical prowess of the watch is enhanced by the beautiful aesthetics of the dial layout, which features an impressive amount of information in a very legible and logical manner: the calendar through apertures within even sized seconds and hours subdials, the larger double date windows within a regulator style larger minute subdial. The reverse of the watch has a crescent shaped window to view the caliber L096.1, however the star of the back is the large moon-phase. In the center lies a representation of the earth which rotates every 24 hours, giving the reader a world-time complication. Orbiting the earth is the moon (every lunar month it makes a complete rotation) and the stars, and the moon within the star chart also displays its phases. The view of the movement is not wasted as well as the balance wheel represents the sun. Completing the movement is the constant force escapement, visible just above the balance wheel.
