Description

  • Oscar Heyman & Brothers
  • platinum, shite gold, sapphire, diamond
The curved form set with 15 tapered emerald-cut sapphires, accented by round and baguette diamonds weighing approximately 2.95 carats, gross weight approximately 28 dwts, unsigned, numbered 28860; circa 1940.

Condition

In good condition. The metal displays slight scratching, commensurate with wear, along with some pitting and a broken seam only visible on the reverse and under close inspection. The sapphires are a medium-light to medium, very slightly violetish blue and are slightly to moderately included with examples of fingerprints, internal crystals, nicks and facet abrasions throughout. The diamonds are approximately F-G color, VS clarity. The tubular elements appear to be rhodium-plated gold and the brooch measures approximately 3 by 1 1/4 inches. The double pin-stem functions as a clip as well and retains good tension.
