Description

  • Tiffany & Co.
  • platinum, moonstone, lapis lazuli, diamond
The drop-style necklace of slightly graduated design, composed of variously-shaped moonstone cabochons, each decorated with lapis lazuli segments, further set with round, old European and single-cut diamonds weighing approximately 2.90 carats, length 16 inches, signed Tiffany & Co.; circa 1915.

Condition

In good condition overall with light scratching to the mounting and lapis lazuli segments throughout. The moonstones maintain a good polish, other than some minute scratches at the apex of some of the stones and display strong adularescence. Diamonds are approximately G-I color and VS-SI clarity. Scratch number 4280. Fitted with a safety closure. Please note that although the necklace is dated circa 1915 in the catalogue, Louis Comfort Tiffany produced works in this style starting in about 1910 up until his death in 1933, making the determination of a precise circa difficult to pinpoint without further corroboration.
