Catalogue Note

In addition to his famed 'Rabbit' brooches, the 'House' brooches created by Raymond Yard were innovative designs that evolved over time. First created in the early 1930s, the house brooch designs changed alongside favored architecture. By the time this present example was created circa 1961, it was common for families such as the Firestones and Flaglers to present Yard with photos of their homes so that he could fashion them into jeweled miniatures.
