Description

  • Tiffany & Co.
  • gold, lapis lazuli, emerald, enamel
Centering a plaque set with an oval-shaped lapis lazuli cabochon, accented by four oval-shaped emeralds, framed by numerous lapis lazuli beads, suspended from three strands composed of hammered gold beads, circular and rectangular links, the circular links highlighted with blue enamel, decorated throughout with scrollwork motifs, length 15½ inches, signed Tiffany & Co., scratch number 4094; circa 1915.

Condition

In very good condition. The gold exhibits a nice, rich color and minimal scratching due to wear, all of the gold beads exhibit significant denting on all sides, suggesting that this was a design choice rather than a result of wear. The lapis lazuli cabochons and beads are deep violetish blue with small flecks of pyrite. The emeralds are medium green, moderately included. Under magnification the emeralds display minor surface abrasions and some minor surface reaching fractures. The blue enamel is intact.
