The garland-style top centering an antique marquise-shaped diamond weighing approximately 3.50 carats, further set with old European and single-cut diamonds weighing approximately 1.00 carat, suspending a natural pearl drop measuring approximately 10.7 by 10.2 mm, partially signed 'E,' with removable brooch fitting; pendant detachable; circa 1905, the drop possibly of later addition.
Condition
In very good condition, particularly considering the age of the piece. Fine detailing to the metal and nice millegrain work throughout. The marquise-shaped diamond is approximately I-J color, VS-SI clarity. The remainder of the diamonds are approximately H-J color, VS clarity. The natural pearl drop has a silvery white body color with strong rose and soft green overtones, good luster and moderate blemishing mainly in the form of ringing and uneven skin. The partial signature "E" could possibly stand for JE Caldwell. Fitted with a pendant loop for the detachable pendant. Length of brooch with pendant approximately 1 3/4 inches. Accompanied by GIA report no. 1162764555 stating that the pearl is natural, saltwater.
