The rectangular minaudière applied with black enamel, decorated with floral sprays set with turquoise and ruby cabochons, the interior fitted with compartments for lipstick and powder, with a separate black enamel compact, measuring approximately 6 by 4¾ by 7/8 inches, signed La Minaudiere de Van Cleef & Arpels, stamped Metaux Divers, with French assay and workshop mark; circa 1939. With original signed and fitted box.

Condition

In fair condition. The interior mirror shows discoloration and tarnish, mirror also shows a crack. The interior compact is removable. The compartment doors are in good working condition. The exterior black enamel is in good condition with only one repair visible on the back left corner and only two minute chips to the bottom. The turquoise displays an even medium light blue hue. The red stones display a purplish red hue and are eye-clean. Accompanied by a fitted box, fitted box displays significant wear to the suede covering, consistent with age.
