  • internally decorated, etched, enameled and partially gilt cameo glass

Provenance

Sotheby's New York, November 26, 1974, lot 64
Acquired from the above by the present owner

Condition

Overall in very good condition. When viewed in person, the vase appears with a more saturated green, with green and gilt highlights and a rich dark burgundy color the top portion. The glass presents with a few minor air bubbles and particulate inclusions inherent in the making. The surface with a few shallow surface scratches and minor surface soiling consistent with age and gentle use. A few minor scattered areas of abrasions around the base, consistent with use and not at all visually distracting. The decoration displays delicate circular striations going around the vase and inherent in the design. A masterfully executed piece where several glass techniques were combined to create a lively and intricate aquatic landscape. -----
