Condition

Overall very good condition. The chairs are an original set as indicated by the consistency of the impressed numbers. The chairs present with a beautiful warm honey color with rich figuring. The wooden surfaces with minor surface scratches, a few minor edge abrasions, a few areas of discoloration and light surface soiling consistent with age and gentle use. A few minor and sensitively undertaken restorations to the edges, only visible upon close inspection. The second chair from the right on the catalogue illustration with two minor cracks in the wood, one of them to the upper proper right corner of the back seat and visible in the catalogue illustration, the other to the proper left back edge of the chair, consistent with the natural ageing of the material and which don’t affect the stability of the chair. The leather of the chairs is likely original and presents with a very delicate and soft texture. The leather surfaces with some minor surface scratches, a few stains and areas of wear consistent with age and gentle use and visible in the catalogue illustration. The color of the leather is not uniform as a result of sun exposure and aging of the material. The reverse of the back seats with a lighter beige color, with some minor surface staining consistent with age and gentle use. All brass tacks are present and emphasize the chairs’ geometric contours. A very stylish group that epitomizes Frank’s perfectly balanced creations. -----
