Condition

Overall in very good original condition. The table presents with richly colored walnut throughout and an elegant slightly freeform edge accentuated by caramel colored wood saplines. The table has been recently waxed and cleaned by the Nakashima studio. The table with a few minor shallow surface scratches, abrasions and rubbing to the surface consistent with gentle use. The current condition of the table reflects the care and attention of the prior owners. There is one minor discoloration measuring ½ inch in diameter to the top of the table located 1.5 inches in from the edge of the table.. The table is offered with two extension leaves designed by Nakashima for this particular table, as seen in the catalogue illustration. The leaves are designed in a manner that the wood grain runs perpendicular to the graining of the rest of the table. This creates a wonderful depth in the design. The legs of the table with some surface scratches and abrasions consistent with use. The wood slected by Nakashima for this particular table base are richly figured and with a wonderfully saturated hue. A beautiful table when viewed in person showing only very gentle signs of use.
