This image was taken the same year as the release of Rock N’ Roll Animal, Lou Reed’s third solo record after departing from the Velvet Undergound. Birthed from the glitter of Andy Warhol’s Factory scene, Reed’s classic counter-culture ballad ‘Walk on the Wild Side’ described Factory personas such as Candy Darling, Holly Woodlawn and Joe Dallesandro, who are also represented in the No End to Beauty auction.
