CAPTAIN LOUIS DE FREYCINET'S COPY, with his signature on the title, and 76 pages with his notes and underlinings in pencil. Freycinet met Weddell in the Falkland Islands early in 1820 after his ship Uranie had been wrecked there. Weddell, in the Jane, was on his first sealing voyage heading for the newly discovered South Shetland Islands
