Description

  • A pair of gold-mounted blue glass scent bottles, probably English, 19th century
  • gold, glass
  • 11.2cm., 4 1/2 in high
in 18th century taste, each of flattened faceted pear form, the gold cagework mounts chased with rabbits, hounds and further game within rocaille architecture and scrolls, matching blue glass stoppers overlaid with gold

Condition

Both bottles have some cagework lacking - one is missing its chain - the other has a restored crack/chop - both have small chips to glass - one with gold collar detached and broken at junction of neck and body. A decorative lot.
