Catalogue Note

In 1990 David Geffen, founder of Geffen Records, proposed to do a Simpsons album. With fun tunes written by Groening, the staff, and celebrities such as Michael Jackson, and performed by the actors as well as BB King, DJ Jazzy Jeff, Dr. John, and Marcy Levy, the album featured an eclectic mix of jazz, blues and hip hop. Tunes include "Do the Bartman," "Moanin' Lisa Blues," and "Deep, Deep Trouble." The album was released on December 4, 1990 and peaked at #3 on the Billboard 200. It became certified triple-platinum on February 13, 1991.
