Catalogue Note

In this season one episode, Homer forgets Marge's birthday and buys her a bowling ball as a birthday gift. Annoyed that Homer bought her 'gift' so he could eventually use it himself, Marge is determined to learn how to bowl. She meets Jacques, a French bowling instructor, who gives her bowling lessons. Marge becomes infatuated with Jacques, causing Homer to worry about the state of their marriage.

This episode was originally titled Bjorn to be Wild, as Brooks had signed on to voice 'Bjorn' a Swedish tennis coach, but he thought it would be funnier if the character was French, causing the title to be changed to Jacques to be Wild. The title was then again changed to its current title, Life on the Fast Lane.
