Description

  • walnut,fruitwood, gilt-bronze
each with a curved solid back, the top-rail inlaid with an alternating band of neoclassical trophies and a figure with a horse within a laurel wreath above swan head supports and caned seat on square tapering legs terminating in gilt-bronze paw feet; gilding and ebonising refreshed

Condition

In overall good conserved condition. Joints sound and sturdy. There are some scattered hair line age cracks which can be filled, some of which have been restored already. Old minor restorations to marquetry. With construction cracks where the panel backs join the seat rail and restorations to veneer especially on legs. There is evidence to old worm to underside which appears to be no longer active. The rear left leg to one has probably been replaced.
