Condition

This large set of twenty chairs is lovely quality and appears to have recently undergone polishing to create consistency of color and patina. The twelve antique examples have very minor variations to the carved legs with subtle differences to the gauge. This is barely discernible to the naked eye. There are usual bruises, scratches, and chips consistent with age and use that one would expect to see. There are very minor repairs. The elegant curved back rails on some have old repairs and filler visible on the reverse. The quality of the additional eight chairs is superb, these have been very well done and match the older group wonderfully. Some typical old marks and wear from use to these from use. The upholstery has some stains but essentially these chairs are 'ready to place' and any work required in terms of re-polishing or tidying would be subject to taste.
