Condition

The illustration of the catalogue is accurate. Very good overall condition despite the inevitable very minor scratches, marks and dents due to age and use. The wooden structure: very good condition. The veneer has been cleaned and has a nice patina. The tole panels have been completely cleaned as the surface was dirty due to wax and the colours had turned too yellow. The colours are now very fresh and very subtle. The painted decoration was in very good condition and there were only a very few refreshed areas. All the panels are original. The gilt-bronze mounts are all original. The gilding of the mounts is original and it just has been gently cleaned. The major part of the screws are original. Two small marble top of the lateral sides have been restored. A complete file about the restoration is available on the request and shows all the restoration process with all the steps. Exceptional piece.
